Moving Forward

As a student aspiring to pursue a career in pharmacy, it was an eye-opening experience for me to learn about what goes on in the pharmacy and also gave me a more definite answer of what I want to do in the future. Before the practicum, I was still struggling to decide what I wanted to do within the healthcare field, but after volunteering in the pharmacy department, I made up my mind of becoming a pharmacist because I was very interested in learning about medications and loved the working environment. During my volunteering period, everyone in the pharmacy was very welcoming and also encouraged me to become a pharmacy technician. Since then, I studied for the PTCB exam, took it in December and passed, becoming a licensed pharmacy technician. With the license, I am able to work in the pharmacy as a technician and gain work experience. Volunteering in the pharmacy marked the beginning of my journey in pursuing a career in pharmacy, and I hope to continue to earn more experience by working as a pharmacy technician, and preparing for pharmacy school.
